TOP WORK!! Mr Pix's mum has said he doesn't want to retire until he is 60 and although he looked grumpy and displeased I suspect that this is what will happen as he listens to his mum more than anyone haha |

Sometimes you need to ignore your Mum! (Who does he spend more time with, after all - her or you?) |

well he would get under my feet! LOL he's grumpy at being back at work so from that prospective he is better not working. I think her thinking is he does nothing apart from watch sport (and a few chores) when not working and that's not good for you which I get but watching sport makes him happy so ... it's 6 of one half a dozen of the other really. |

Sigh
One mortgage down, one to go. Sharing it with this group as I know you’ll ‘get it’. The plan now is to keep chipping away at the remaining mortgage but with my main focus being to build up my pension pot. I’m still hoping to be mortgage-free in just over a year’s time… Great news, cathrobinson ! |

That is good news cathrobinson You've sparked this thread back into life - I was beginning to think that everyone had retired and were too busy doing exciting things that they haven't had time to do before. |

Great news on the mortgage My parents and particularly my Mum are not impressed by talk of early retirement. My Mum worked til 65 (albeit with a c20 break to bring up a family but some part time work in there) and may dad worked into his 70s |

Perhaps Mr Pix just needs you to retire too so you can show him how exciting his life could be. (She says, in the middle of vacuuming her sofas.) |

My dream is still partly alive . My FA phoned me last week and made the right sounding noises but I see him on Monday. I’ve been signed off for another two weeks and then hopefully I may know something to back to work with. |
