Thanks guys we hope so too there’s bee lots of soul searching while we’ve said it lots for a reasonable length of time it suddenly felt real but out of reach. Of all my friends/peers there’s only one couple who’ve retired most are a couple of years younger or career minded so it feels strange but I’m getting used to the idea. Thanks to you all here for the shared plans and advice and support. |

Be brave gg and take a leap. I have! I've got 37 weeks to work out how I'm going to fund retirement. Still waiting to get my DB figures and in the process of finding an IFA for advice.

I’m excited for you @geordiegirl. Hope things work out for you and that I can follow a similar escape route in the next few years.

Looking back it’s amazing how quickly I transitioned from ‘I’m too young to retire’ to ‘I want to retire young’. I look back at my dithering before I pulled the trigger, it sends a shudder down my spine that I could have pulled out! |

I’ve just booked my annual review with my FA. Asked if any changes to my intended retirement age, I answered 56, rather than 57.

(There’s also a possibility I might aim for 55 too)
