I don't think there's a Buzz at work.
We've got a Neil and a Michael though.

My work was rewarding, helping patients to get better, but definitely not enjoyable nor was there any "buzz" thanks to the severe stress and tremendous demands placed on me.

I get the occasional buzz I do enjoy my work (not the journey to that their London though).
I didn’t pre lockdown it’s now put some empathsis on the importance of interaction. I have continued interaction in what I do (some say it’s a performance 😂)

The only time I got a buzz at work was when I worked for a charity that tackled social exclusion. The main thing was keeping folk out of jail for any length of time. Alas, for some even for a weekend it was a hard shift.
Oh, briefly I worked for the Scottish Refugee Council that was good too.

I like the people and I occasionally get some small satisfaction from solving a problem and feeling that I helped. But it's pretty rare! Will happily leave it all behind.
So many other ways to be more useful and happy, if only one didn't have to earn money! G

Hiya, this could be a separate thread if it's too annoying but...
Job you would be happy to continue doing until you're 67 (or 77 or 87....?!) Either as a change post retirement from current or could have done all your live, in an alternative reality, money
Eg Part time runner, triathlete, other sport or activity Part time coach or trainer for above Support worker for kids in difficulty (don't know what I mean by this or why it isn't just social worker which I bet is a v hard job) Other helping role for vulnerable people or those in need (again not sure this isn't charity worker, health worker, social worker, education worker... etc all of which are v hard jobs)
My post retirement "sailing instructor" business fits into second one above. My volunteer tutoring fits into sort of the 3rd one. My blood donor carer part time job sortof the last bullet?
Is it perhaps the "part time" or voluntary aspect that makes it fun and bearable? G

And prompted by me talking to a Union rep onsite and thinking "that might be a nice job?" G
