I love a paper book. Hardbacks as well, although they aren't very practical for travel. I always leave the ones I've read on the hotel bookshelves.

nearly all my books come from charity shelves these days so it's really easy to donate them back when I've read them.

I'm an avid reader. Don't have a Kindle, I like a book. I buy from charity shops for reading when I'm away from home. I go to the library at least once a week.

Merry Christmas and Happy NewG(rrr)
Bumped into a couple of pals / former work colleagues in a farm cafe on Sunday. They'd been for a cycle or run somewhere. He retired just a year ago from the same place that I was working, and she does consultancy, so has had breaks, but then starts a 6 month or 1 year piece of work again. They're just back from 3 months touring the Adriatic coast, including rock climbing in Greece. They have always been back packers, ski tourers, climbers, staying in bothies and hostels. And they are loving their time off and time together, it seems. No surprise there. Very jealous!
They offered to take me ski touring in Scotland, but it's very dependent on conditions. So you just have to jump when weather is good. Only weekends for me, of course! Though I might just take time off, if need be! G

Just as well I got my last pay from my work at the end of the month as my NHS pension is not starting until 30.12 although I gave them plenty notice and my other ‘pay’ from my investments isn’t through today either although I asked for it to start from 01.12. Will give it a few more days then find out.

I have started to declutter with still a week to go 😱 I use notebooks for work (my own) and have several with only some pages used, I have ripped then all out and they are now in the recycling bin, I feel liberated 😊

I am decluttering. I feel I have started a new life, so working myself around the house. After 9 months of being too ill to even clean/hoover/dust, being looked after by lots of different friends, NOTHING was in the right place and everything dusty and covered in cobwebs, as looking after me was more important than the house. It is very liberating! Interestingly, in some instances all I did was empty a cupboard, clean it, clean its contents and put it back in "my way" and suddenly everything fits with room to spare!
