Exciting stuff.

Our retirement planning has a new factor to be planned for. My son proposed yesterday and so there is a wedding to be factored in to our financial plans. That possibility was always at the back of my mind but he has taken so long I had assumed they were just a modern couple who didn’t believe in marriage. Exciting times though.

Who knows what will happen and be proposed or even what type of wedding it will be. They are in San Francisco right now and maybe I should have guessed what was planned.

We think though the days of brides parents paying are in the past.

Both of ours paid for their own weddings - we brought daughters dress and made a contribution to sons (well that was the plan then they cancelled it all and went to Vegas just the two of them). We made a contribution to their party when they got back.

I just made a contribution to my son’s and after hearing what his father contributed I was proud I managed the amount I did from a single part time wage.

They are home in two weeks and so we will find out more about plans then. When they FaceTimed us last night they didn’t seem in a hurry or have any plans yet.

They looked so happy and sent lovely pics from a lovely place beside the bridge.
