I also speed read Ulysses at uni. To the lighthouse was the following week and I enjoyed more, possibly because it was short enough to read properly

Younger Daughter wrote her dissertation on Virginia Woolf, and there are copies of several of her novels on my bookshelf. I did read To The Lighthouse a very long time ago. Might re-read... When I've finished The Overstory and Volume II of Karamazov.
