I enjoyed Assassin’s Apprentice very much. I didn’t absolutely love it but I liked it a lot - enough to consider going straight on to the next one at any rate.

Reading a Mary Wesley. I'd seen the excellent TV adaptation of The Camomile Lawn (which, incidentally, is 25 years old!) but never read any of her books. The one I have is Not That Sort Of Girl. I'm enjoying it. Did you know that Mary Wesley was first published at the age of 70?

Yes I did Dio, because I read quite a few of hers years ago (probably also inspired by the TV Camomile Lawn) and I remember thinking, that's good news, I've got years to find the novel in me then.

Not so many years now - I need to look harder :-)

I'm reading The Leopard. Can't say I'm in love with it yet.

Yeah I knew too. I was pretty keen on her when she was first published - only thoght the adaptation was 'ok' as I'd already read the book.

I eagerly awaited each new title ... don't know I'd like them so much now. I always nabbed just out hardbacks form the library so I don't actually own any.

She muddles (for me) a bit with 'mid period' Elizabeth Jane Howard (pre the Cazalet series which I didn't like so much)

Lot of EJ Howard novels VG!

Hmm Milkman is glowering at me from the sidebar. I still haven't read it and I've left it in London again. It's a much travelled milkman.
