Hi Fetchies, I am new but i will jump in…

I’ve just finished 1Q84 by Murakami… In the past I loved what I read by HM, but I found this one was really difficult to get through. Pointless plodding plot, paper thin characters who act rather randomly and a fantastic setting that is neither engrossing nor emotional or intriguing. All done in a pointlessly long, wordy 1000-pages monster of a book

Oh no! I LOVE Murakami... Not read this one and it sounds like I better not attempt it. How very disappointing!

Hi Ingo. Heard much the same about this one and haven’t been tempted as yet.

I loved wild sheep chase. I have read a few more but I figured they’d start to blur if I read too many in succession

Yes, they do have a tendency to blurr!

(Me too - Sandford is very readable. His main protagonist is a bit of a psycho, but I don't think it's author-endorsed, with the secondary one being a walking critique of the main one's trigger-happy character)

That instantly made me think of Myron Bolitar and Windsor Horne Lockwood III.

Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Bolitar is 6 feet, 4 inches tall and considered handsome by many women...

🤣🤣🤣
