Everyone has their own idea of what the Doctor should be and the character is flexible enough to allow that, but there will always be someone who says ‘that’s not right’.

My hope is that he'll be able to steady the ship [no pun intended] by tightening up the scriptwriting and direction of a series that 'eats' money for the SFX alone. Always in the back of my mind is that the show is still targeted at ' a younger audience'.

Watching these episodes now on catch-up, it just doesn't work
