Does such a thing exist as good waterproof or water resistant walking trousers (not over-trousers though)?

There's lots on the market that have some sort of water repellent (DWR) coating, eg on the Cotswold website, under mens walking trousers cotswoldoutdoor.com
you can filter by Water Repellent.
Not tried them, so not sure how repellent these type are

For proper waterproof, you could look at companies that specialise in hunting, eg Fjallraven, they do some ( not cheap !! ) fjallraven.com
or there's skiing salopettes which are insulated. Not sure what other options.........

I was privileged to see basically the same view at the end of February as described in the BBC article below :-

I couldn't quite believe what I was seeing. I'd never heard of anything like it in Scotland. I met some other people who also saw what I was seeing, which reassured me that there was nothing wrong with my eyesight !

Paramo Velez trousers work for me as all-day trousers. I've been wearing them to work and around the house this winter as warm and really comfy too.
