ER - wash your tea dishes, fill a spray bottle with the water and spray the leaves.
The flies don't like the bubbles from the fairy liquid

Thanks bigleggy, I’ll give it a go. I am fascinated though by the way the ants farm these little beasts and spend all day running up and down the plant doing what ever it is they do.

A squirrel (I assume) has decapitated my tallest! It was never going to win here but I was proud of it as it was a side shoot following an earlier incident.
Next year I'm hoping to grow lots of the things on my super-sunny allotment

Garlic is supposed to be good against aphids too: grate some finely into water and use that as a spray.
