Not enjoying running down the A50 (Derby Southern bypass) :-( Nearly as bad as running down the A6 in the rain at the Derby 10 miles a couple of years ago (re-routed due to flooding!).

Outskirts of Leicester, near "Mammoth Lake", which I can only assume is where they found a mammoth, because it looks like quite a small lake to me.

It's a whole series of lakes of varying sizes, half in the city, half in the county, which were originally gravel pits, now a rather pleasant country park. The Leicester Half Marathon takes you through there. Yes, they did find mammoth bones there, and there's a big mammoth statue on a hill in the park (a popular hill for hill reps).
