I like this, the 60s black music influence really shines through. My youngest son got tickets to see them via his girlfriend and says they are absolutely awesome.

I find a lot contemporary stuff dour and dreary. I used to tune into 6Music all the time because it resonated with me with a good balance of quality current and oldies. Now not so much. I listen to BBC Asian network a fair bit - I find the majority of the music uplifting and the chat is really positive and educational. With regard to contemporary - I listen to artists like Arctic Monkeys, LCD Soundsystem, Sports Team. Also quite like Goat, Michael Kiwanuka, Ghost Poet, Karen O and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Harry Styles is a talent for sure. Just curious DT, do you feel that his music has a soulful element? I like some of his records a lot, but I think it's more pop than soul.

There's someone else who knows about soul music. Infinitely more than Trev N. in my opinion.
