Interesting that you should pick up on that Hann :-) Linda Jones is revered in the rare soul world in much the same way as (say) Tammi Terrell, Gladys Knight and Aretha Franklin are in the more commercial world. Her background is predominantly gospel, but her phenomenal vocal range lent itself to more uptempo stuff too, ask any northern soul fan who has the most impressive female voice and 9/10 of them will immediately cite Linda Jones. She only really had two big 'uns on the scene, the one you've listed and "I Just Can't Live My Life". She died really young, still in her twenties I think :-(
