Slow slow and blue-eyed. I've got 3 versions of this song - I love it. Discovered it when I was a kid. BCFM, our amazing diverse unity radio station played it this morning with a potted history about Evie. Bristol Community Radio Station.

It's nice isn't it? I don't know if it's got much soul, but there are so many records you could say the same about - and if you like it, does it really matter?

Thanks for posting RS, we need a few more like that 🙂

She's done some other numbers which have features on NS samplers. One of them being a song that ended up being a hit for the Hollies - I Can't Let Go.

I wonder if Evie knows of her popularity in certain obscure parts of UK music culture? Was that mentioned in the radio broadcast RS? I have a feeling that Levine included her in his awful SWONS thing, so I'm thinking she must do.

We’re walking the Norfolk Coast Path and passed Caistor today. I thought I’d google what records were big at the weekenders (I never went). There were quite a few ‘hits’ plus some records I think might be too funky here (albeit several which I love). This came up as a biggie and I’ve never heard it

I got to work and had to switch it off. She had bad luck with timing of her releases and other artists recorded the songs written for her and had bigger hits. I think she eventually became more successful.

Been awful quiet hereabouts, has everyone lost their soul or something??? Tell you what, I'll spark the fire for you all:

Today is a modern soul sort of a day and I have been reminded just how wonderful this record by Jeffrey Osborne is, treat yourself and play this one loud, it's gorgeous.

This is the JO song I love. I've got it on 45 picture cover - bought it on holiday in Bournemouth when I was a kid.
