Looking at the OS map for on the Thames Path site nationaltrail.co.uk it's not clear to me that we can run along the north bank without just running along what look like busy roads. Am I missing something, or is that what a circular route would entail?

I was thinking a circular route might entail Bushy park and do an actual circle

That's my view of the situation, LD. Never fear, we'll find a good result. Fleecy, if I lived where you do, I'd totally agree about the stupidity of the journeys to HC and back from Chertsey. For everyone else, it's a travelcard + a single from Chertsey to zone 6 boundary which sounds relatively straightforward. There seem to be no journeys from Chertsey to HC by public transport - i.e. the attempt to find them causes a timeout. I'll try again later. What opinions are held on whether we want to start at HC to give a continuous stretch of the Thames for those who do all the events vs. finding a route that's both attractive and easy to get to and from? |

Bushy Park circular is another option, of course. Or go to the other extreme, focus on the bridges and head up towards Lechlade where bridges are quite frequent. |

I have two suggestions. 1. Fleecy stays with me the night before and/or the night after 2. I have a big car and am happy to act as shuttle if appropriate. I don't mind much about where we run as I can't chat and observe at the same time so usually go for the chatting |
