The original route started by Tower Bridge (south) and we crossed it and every subsequent bridge to Hammersmith. A mere 15 miles !

It would kill me at the moment but I did like that route. And there are opt in/out options.

I'm not sure I'll be up to running much more than 5km on September 7th, but it would be great to start and see how far I get - then use public transport for the rest.

It was also the first time I either got lost or felt lost around Battersea Power Station.

It might be nice to start at Tower Bridge - how many of us would be up for the whole 15 miles?

I took a quick look at options for ducking out early (all distances approximate):

5km - stop at Temple tube station, take District line to Hammersmith
5 miles - stop at Westminster bridge, take Bakerloo + Piccadilly or Jubiliee + District line to Hammersmith
10km - stop at Vauxhall Bridge, take Victoria + District line to Hammersmith
10 miles - stop at Chelsea, walk to South Kensington tube, District or Piccadilly to Hammersmith
20km - Putney Bridge, bus to Hammersmith

End point for the full distance would be the Blue Anchor riverside pub at Hammersmith.

That should have said "from Waterloo" for the option of stopping at 5 miles.

We could start at Waterloo for 10 miles to Hammersmith if that's a better maximum distance.

Or start at Tower Bridge (south side) then once across Chelsea bridge head back east to Vauxhall Bridge and finish at the same pub as last time (Jugged Hare) - that's nearly 10 miles.

The weather will determine how far I can run.

Last year it was broiling and alpenrose, Night Owl and I walked from Westminster (I think), then caught another tube then walked another 4 miles in total.
