Happy New Year, fellow taggers.
As we come into a New Year can I ask that we don’t tag threads with the year.
This doesn’t help link related threads from one year to another, but actually does the complete opposite and links completely unrelated threads that only share the year in common.
Recently I’ve been spending some time going through clearing all the year tags (I know, I should get a life) but there is a lot of satisfaction to be gained from the immediate improvement in the related threads list.
I haven’t quite finished yet, there are some big years still to go and in some cases it’s not just a case of removing the year tag, but also adding or tidying other tags. You’d be surprised how many threads only had the year as a tag.
I feel like such a sad nerd writing this

I’ve got to admit it’s been pages since I did any tagging *hangs head* so good to see others are on the ball.
I also have to admit I would have been that sad nerd if I had spotted the problem with the year tags 😅
