Agree about theses though it’s more complex than that, papers take sometimes years to get published! It must depend to some extent on the subject and topic
Having almost finished my first paper after supervisor feedback, it’s a very long process and in some ways a thesis is a lot more flexible and can answer bigger picture questions individual paper collections can’t
Just need to work out how to slash 2000 words to submit it!

I passed my dissertation! Relief beyond belief. I never have to look at it again. I went through some of the feedback which was fair (especially pointing out the bits I clearly didn't understand such as the difference between validity and reliability and the formatting of some tables).
