Apparently the VO2 side of the predictor as a minimum equates rest and sleep into the calculations, so it's recommended to wear it all the time.........heard t on a podcast, not sure which one, but think it was inside running and they were talking to a garmin bod.

Well I wear mine all the time and they are rubbish. It doesn't work for everyone.

VO2 Max should be the one side that doesn't need rest and sleep.

I agree, all the stats for me are way off. But i do run a lot of slow hilly commutes, use the optical wrist HRM which can give poor readings at times........and my garmin also gives sleep scores without me even wearing it.......I've run a race and then looked at the predictor and its slower than I've just run a race..........

I only wear mine to run so not getting the full picture.

I have that with the threshold pace. I literally ran a 10m pace at 5.52mm and it said my threshold pace was 6.09mm!

Mine has threshold as 6m40 pace. I should use the inbuilt threshold test workout function to calibrate it maybe? Not sure how it best fits as a session within my plan though as in my head it feels like I'd be going quite deep.

You shouldn't have to do their test. There's obvious errors like DT highlighted and I've had similar. It shows a HR for pace and you've clearly run at a faster pace at said HR so it's clearly just wrong.

Crossed the event horizon to a 2:59.xx prediction. Hopefully not peaking too soon๐Ÿคž

Agreed. I'll see what doing the test achieves though too ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿค”

Indeed quite silly. I've had the same experience. That doesn't boost my confidence in the Garmin race predictor.

My watch is predicting

5k 17:05 (tad optimistic)
10k 36:01 (would hope to dip under that)
HM 1:20:09 (about right)
Mars 3:00:00 (not done enough long runs and if I did I reckon I'd beat that)
