That's a biggie to commit to and only works when you're ready. And then it DOES! So good luck.

Having started the thread it looks like that's all I meant to do. Have been a bit absent. Well, you know how academic years start at different times in September - and into October. Well the athletic year is a bit like that and I'm not even into my Track Holiday yet as I have my final comp on Saturday.

ANYWAY, the thread seems quite healthy enough without me prodding and pontificating. *breathes sigh of relief*

Not that that will stop me from now having a nose through the past few pages.....

Have looked through...

Hanneke - love your micro holidays plan. Getting to the coast somehow guarantees lifting spirits - whatever the weather there's something about the sea...

Mini breaks would sound different and a bit Bridget Jones. ;-) Although I did used to enjoy a good mini break in the Old Days.

Going back a bit I wonder how Gimme is progressing with Ulysses? And I noted that V-rap has made appreciable progress with her garden, the book reading less so. Gotter make use of the light though, that's how I see it. Not as much to do in the garden once shhhhh the clocks go back.

I will be doing some travelling next week and will be taking my current books plus an additional one with me but leaving the garden at home, although I expect to return with a pile of preloved plant pots.

So - what else? Meditation study and practice is popular to start or resume or deepen. Deepen? I know what I mean!

Fleecy is improving her German, not sure whether she's beyond food and booze yet, but then it's important to get the essentials rock solid. Don't be like Raffo, A level French but still told a waitress in the South of France that he only ate peaches. Hmmm that is NOT the word for fish. Grammar was impeccable mind.

Pix is keeping up with her step count, AL is coaching a new group of her Resolution Runners starting this Saturday I think.

What i really want is photographic evidence of Pin Lady's upholstery project.

I am unable to break my vague and amorphous wishes/wants/desires into small, achievable actions. Mainly I just want to be a better, more together person.

I think that could be summarised as “I want to be someone who knows what they want.”

I have almost finished the first online course in the Albanian alphabet. it has 36 letters, though not the letter W.
As far as I can gather, all Albanian letters make only one sound e.g. we have C as in car but also as in necessary. Their C is pronounced ts as in bats, while they also have a C with a tail, pronounced ch, and Q also seems to be pronounced ch.

Those sounds won't change the way some of our letters do depending on the letters around them.

Dh is 'the', T is ter, and Th is th (as in think)
e is eh, while e with two dots above it is ur
G is for Gordon, while Gj is for George and Xh is ger as in Rangers.

J is yur and Nj is un-yer
most difficult is L which is Le, while LL is (sort of) ull, which is very difficult to differentiate.

It always makes me smile when folk talk about the benefits of the seaside. I should be the most happy, content person around. I guess it only works in small infrequent doses.
