Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Ah, re-read your post and you did it without EDATE. That should work well enough.

Confirmed the EDATE version works once the correct syntax is used.

SPR - I must admit I didn't fully understand what you meant by (eg) YEAR(EDATE(START DATE,-1))
So I reverted to something I knew.

You're welcome Fields

um EDATE -1 just takes the date back a month which is why it can deal with the year bit.

Not Excel but I wonder if anyone here can help.

I have been trying to help my daughter with some school work. She's created a plot of a shape, so I have coordinates defining the shape. Now she has to model it on a site called Desmos.

Her teacher suggested using Google Sheets to derive the polynomial equation for the curves which make up the shape. It's a guitar, so not one regular shape; I'm doing a few points at a time.

This works fine for some of the segments but for others it's way out, and I can't figure out why.

I'm generally taking the polynomial to the third degree, unless it starts including e, in which case Desmos doesn't seem to be able to cope.

Am aware that this might be total gibberish to you all but asking just in case!

Could you show us what shape(s) she is trying to draw. I'm intrigued!

I've never used Desmos, but share what you can and I'll have a play.
(It's that or leaf raking!)

Or check with my maths teacher son later, if he knows or uses it
