Happy anniversary for yesterday, Joopsy :)

I have sent unsolicited encouraging texts this morning to two friends who are struggling with stuff at the moment.
I feel a bit crappy myself today so I'm making an extra effort to smile lots at work and spread a bit of cheer - it is helping to dissipate my own crappiness :)

How has it taken me a month to notice this thread?

Not sure I've had much opportunity to be nice to people today but I was chatty with the guy on the supermarket checkout and I picked up a piece of rubbish outside our garden on the pavement to make the road a nicer place.

I made a point of telling a class teacher how much I admired her approach with her children and how settled they seemed as a class.

I picked up four extra bags of dog poo this morning when out with my dog, it makes me cross that you need to do it but there are loads of kids in our village and it reallh shouldn't be left for someone to fall in.

I've tried to be kind and reassuring to a young member of my team who has a bit of a medical issue at the moment, offered to go and sit with her as she's not lived in London long and told her to take all the time she needs. Fortunately her Mum is with her so I don't need to worry about her being frightened and alone. I've also offered to go on-call at the weekend if she's not up to it.

I had been planning to work from home tomorrow but I've lent my laptop to another member of the team who's baby is sick, so she can work from home tomorrow if she's able, rather than try and struggle in.

I feel a bit of a fraud putting these on this thread tho, coz this is just something you should do if you have a team, for me it's not something out of the ordinary.

I've not bought food for homeless people for over a week either, but that's mainly because I didn't leave the house from last Thursday to yesterday morning.

Nowt fraudulent about that Wobbling, I know plenty of people who would put themsleves first in those circumstances and that will have made a big difference to the lady with the sick baby.

I know a lot of the things folk do on here are ordinary and just what they do anyway, but they do give ideas to the rest of us of things we can all do to help the world keep turning, so please keep them coming

I'm looking forward to speaking to some students individually today to congratulate them on improved performance. I don't have to and in the past may not have made more than a passing comment to go with the positive written feedback I have given but positivity costs nothing?

Absolutely, TT :)
Wobbling - your team are very lucky to have you.
I'm off to sing with the old folks again this afternoon. We'll be in the dementia unit for the first time this week - I do hope they enjoy it.
