My main office is at the end of a runway in secure compound. If you are not an employee it is a pain to access fo I stopped and got the mail from the postie to save him having to come across the runway.

Today I made a point of telling a teacher how utterly brilliant she is at the end of a day of meetings about her pupils. If I could clone her I would.

Not a RAK because it was planned but today, two friends and I went to the local care home/dementia unit to lead an hour's sing-song for the residents. It was great fun and they clearly enjoyed it. We're going to try to go every week, rotating between the care home, dementia unit and special care unit. One guitar, two voices, some song lyrics and a couple of mikes was all it took and the staff were very grateful for our efforts. Looking forward to the next time

At the bouldering wall today there were a couple ladies with a few children. They had never climbed so we gave the kids some pointers and suggested areas they were likely to manage. One of the kids was great - total go get 'em attitude! I made a point of saying as much to her and her mum.

SW that is a lovely thing to do. My mum used to work in a day centre for older people and they loved that sort of thing. The local schools used to do performances which went down especially well.

Good work ladies. Despite the effort to just be nice but RAK are harder to come by still so when I went to get a bottle of water from the college vending machine today I left £5 credit in it for whoever came along next.

It makes me a wee bit sad that this thread rarely gets updated when the whole world seems to be imploding with rage. There is so much to be angry and confused about at the moment, but surely that is even more reason to to try and have a small impact on someone elses life.
I stopped and had a good chat with Jimmy today, a big issue seller in Lincoln, it is a miserable day weather wise so I got him a cup of tea (with 6 sugars!) and a warm breakfast panini from Caffe Nero. We chatted for about 5 mins and I asked him what he thought of Trump. He laughed out loud and said 'yes, Donald is top of my priority list at the moment!' I think he may have been using a hint of sarcasm.

I like to think I have been doing my small bit for humanity, I just haven't been remembering to write it down. All the usual picking up litter (and even someone else's dog sh*t), holding doors, letting cars into the flow of traffic, letting people know how much I appreciate them, offering a listening ear to colleagues who need to offload. Leaving a £1 coin in the trolley so the next person doesn't have to find one.
