And the hits keep on coming.

Bruyneel fired and L'equipe ran a story suggesting he might have poisoned Frank Schleck...yeah right Frank and I was just keeping my grandmother's EPO cool in the fridge. (Rumsas actually tried that excuse).

Hamilton doped because most of the peleton in the mid-late 90's did so and was the only way to be at the front consistently (so he claims in his book). A fascinating read. You start off shocked, but the by the end you feel blasé about the whole doping scandal due to the amount of riders and teams involved.

The UCI are just as complicit due to the fact they deliberately turned a blind eye to everything. Don't be surprised if they reject USADA's findings. Armstrong has had them wrapped around his little finger for years and still has friends in high places there.

I agree with that from the TdF director. How many of the other frontrunners from that period you could say were categorically clean?

It would leave a massive black hole, but that just about sums up the murky era that was 90's and 00''s.

See my earlier comment about asterixing from 1991-2010.

It would absolutely break my heart if Boardman had turned out to have doped. But I think (and I have researched) that he (and Obree) may be the one clean story from the 90s to hang on to.

It helps that they weren't Grand Tour contenders or mountain domestiques.

Well not if they weren't juicing up on Edgar they wouldn't be. Boardman could never do more than one hard day without blowing up.
