That's the patio - it is a bit below inside dloor level and has slats for the snow to fall through in theory. It is up to my thighs in the middle of the patio now and has buried my hot tub.

Unsurprisingly, nothing in the Fens. We never really get snow unless the whole country is gripped in an icy blast. Just glorious wall-to-wall sunshine but it is bitterly cold.
