Big bike rides out of the way now so can concentrate on running

Alpenrose I ran from Chale to the Needles via Tennyson Monument what a killer!

I knew it was going to be hard but I also knew I was stubborn enough to do it lol. Wasn't pleasant being physically sick after an energy gel on an empty stomach though. I have learned several lessons from Saturday though

Lip gloss im pretty sure that a croissant for breakfast, a slice of cake for lunch and half a bag of crisps isn't the right way to fuel for a hilly trail run the next day for me. Usually I make sure I hydrate well for at least 3-4 days in advance, lots of sleep and 'proper' food. Not what I did this time a week of late nights poor hydration and not great food choices. I think I've now realised that I'm not young enough to abuse my body like I used to be able to and get away with it.

Also the fact that the longest run I did was a 10 miler on flat road probably didn't help either πŸ˜…

I used to get able to do stuff just turn up and I'd muddle through it. I've always been a back of the pack girl, I'm now a back of the pack send the medics girl!

Haha EB definitely not the best preparation for a long run but you sound like me. I really to look on sites etc at what is 'proper' racing food and fuelling on the day. Oh and I sound as stubborn

1) Keep doing my leg exercises and add ankles to the plan
2) Cto5k/10k my way
3) Concentrate on 5k then 10k times
4) Try to get to +300 miles in a year (plus 1000 walking miles)
5) Arrive at the BH marathon start line fit and healthy, and have fun whilst covering the challenge

1) to start building some strength and flexibility work into my week
2) to get back in to walking every day for at least 30 mins
3) to shift some of the extra heft I've gained this year
