On Saturday I did the first quarter isle of wight challenge, 25k which turned out to be a bit under 16 miles. It was always going to be a run/walk, take pics and enjoy the scenery. However, woefully undertrained and underfuelled I limped home in about 4 1/2 hours. I walked from 10 miles. Considering mile 10 to 11 is uphill to the highest point (I think, if not it felt like it) on the island and had a wee incident meaning taking my inhaler I was quite pleased with myself. I swore quite a few times at steps and styles mind you

Afternoon folks,
Welcome NightOwl

Well done on the run Nutso and any gym work you do

EB you have my sympathy with your run. I was poorly last week so never fuelled during week in anticipation of my long run (not that I really know what I should have been eating) so bailed at 12 miles of a supposed 20 mile, valuable lesson learned the hard way. I was beating myself up over the weekend but found today's 5 miler so much easier that actually I should be pleased with myself.

My legs badly need TLC (rollered) as my quads are very sore because of the terrain I was running on Saturday.
I have a hot stones massage on Wednesday night but that is more pamper than torture so really need to get a sports massage booked.

Have a great week folks and healing vibes & tissues for the poorly folk

Welcome to the club NO. :)

EB, that's quite an achievement, were you down the eastern end of the island?
Lem, glad you had a little leg stretcher and feel better for it.
Nut, I think it's time you started increasing your distance on training runs a bit. ;-)

LG, glad to hear you're back on it again.

I had my first PT session since my holiday this morning. I never seem to come out feeling like I'm mashed, but I do get improvements. He took a couple of measurements and weighed me this morning as I said I was fed up with my belly and I need a bit of accountability to help me get it off. We'll review it after 4 weeks. :-o

It's quite simple, if I stop eating all the crap, a bit of weight will come off and the belly will reduce.
