would surely be translatable as:
'Let Foxy Davy do all the work next Sunday at Shakespeare, just keep up with him, deal with the niggles and the demons if and when they appear, and finish strong.'

12.5 miles this morning and isn't it glorious out there? All that's left now are a couple of short runs during the coming week and then it's race day. I'm sure it'll be fun once I get to the finish line

I'll know I'm doing a good job when you start swearing at me & calling me names.
Paced Darkhorse to a 19 min sub 4 PB at Robin Hood in 2008 & he didn't call me a bar steward until 23.5 miles - obviously didn't push him hard enough ?!
