Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Rob - I thought 40 was the minimum age for the NHS Health Check but I doubt GP'S are pushing you youngsters to get checked out. Anyway all good with your results and being obese is something that you're dealing with so you won't be obese for much longer.

Well done on another long run and a good week's training.

Can't believe how quickly the weeks are flying by and those spring races will be upon us. So good to test out your race kit.

Shades yes the tests start at 40, I appreciate that I’m not high priority but my lifestyle wasn’t healthy. I’ll probably do another one next year.

My long runs will take care of themselves next week planning 18 miles (may tag a parkrun at the end) week after is 20 mile race, then lapped event. Only two weekends before SDW50 and then one weekend before London. Will need to focus more on what I’m running during the week and recovery.

Need to unbox my ASICS fujitrabuco and get some miles in them, SDW50 is in 6 weeks!!!

Rob - never having been that fond of off road stuff I've only ever owned one pair of trail shoes and they were Asics Trabuco, good shoes.

Plenty of races for you coming up to look forward to.

Bitterly cold again this morning, feels like -3, -4 or -5, depending on which app I believe. Too cold for me and my poor muscles never really warmed up, but I managed 7 miles, no ice on today's route.

Gym later, legs/glutes again.

Rob: Training seems to be going well at the moment :)

Shades Glad you had a run and no ice to thwart you.

Jolly cold -4 here but no ice but felt a lot colder my fingers were numb and this is with gloves on! My breathing is not good but this cold affects my asthma.Managed 4+ miles I did think 3 would be the max so dug deep to make sure I managed 4.

WP - well done getting your run done in this weather. Just a couple more chilly mornings and then it should be a bit better for our early morning runs. 😎

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
