Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Does anyone know of any decent trail routes around the Glasgow area? Nothing too manic as I've never done trails before.

Mugdock country park has some decent trails, including part of the whw. To the south Muirshiel country park and Gleiffer Braes near Paisley are good.

PLV - or heading in the other direction, the Clyde Walkway is good. walkhighlands.co.uk

There's 40 miles of it if you keep on going (as run by quite a few of us yesterday), with good train links here and there to get you back into Glasgow (or vice versa)

Thanks for that andy. That one's really easy for me to get to and I could easily run to the start of it. The train links may come in handy as well.

whw looks good too.

Reading PH's blog about running fifty different parkruns got me thinking: could you do all the Scottish ones in a day? In the summer, I think it could be possible*.

For example: Glasgow 08:00; Strathclyde 09:30; Falkirk 11:00; Edinburgh 12:30; St Andrews 14:30; Dundee 16:00; Aberdeen 18:00; Inverness 20:30.

I think there is some form of Fetchie involvement in all of them? Could greet people and keep them right. (Thinks) Though it might be easier to do a Central Scotland/ NW England eight.

*for some - not including myself. 40K in a day - that's almost a marathon!
