I'd run it. But would they introduce it with enthusiasm and then lose interest after a few years (see Stirling, Aberdeen etc)?

It will be organised ( if it happens) with the intention of making a profit for the organisers. They're a company, not a charity or club. If it makes a profit it will continue if not it will be cancelled . In the first few years there will be a novelty factor which will increase numbers so it will probably be profitable. After that, who knows..

Top tip for tomorrow D’: It’s a long slow bus drive (the long way around the loch) to the start line tomorrow. Pick a coach with a loo, rather than one of standard double deckers.

I’m staying in Fort Augustus for precisely that reason. I get to have breakfast at a reasonable hour, and a much shorter bus journey.

Very wise. That bus trip was a daunting experience for my very first marathon in 2014 - it just seemed such a long way!

Can’t speak for Stirling but know that it wasn’t the company that pulled plug on Aberdeen.

Interesting OC, everything I’ve heard from people involved in the organization of Aberdeen was that it was great run, they had their three year contract and chose not to renew
