What! I never even saw you :-o Drat! I thought that a sumptuous breakfast and the prospect of the spa had overcome you ;-).

I was near 36 minutes having run a 10K last night. I would call it a recovery run … except that I certainly wasn't having to make myself run slowly.

I thought that the "Big Dirty Girls" thing in the park looked a bit half-arsed. Free 5K or £30 for a 3K (supposedly) with some primary school grade obstacles and a pool of cold water to crawl through? Hmm ...

Aw poop sorry to miss you :(

Not my kind of thing but the space hoppers looked fun! At least it didn’t encroach on parkrun at all

I think the BDG thing was mostly a sponsorship opportunity for people to fart about for a few minutes at "Tough Mudder-lite" and raise money for good causes

The spacehoppers :-o They looked awfy, AWFY hard work. Underinflated. Quite a few women wee just getting off and carrying them.

The slide looked good though - I'd have just wanted to keep going doon that :-o.

I did spectate a bit. Most people were not making any attempt to run, then again at that price you wouldn't want it over too quickly. It did occur to me that a lot of the participants were the type that parkrun would like to draw in, but somehow, it seems to be easier to get them to pay scads for an obstacle race than run, jog or walk for free.

And the finish area was rubbish. Stalls around the lawn, but at the finish, nothing, just nothing. Not even someone to cheer them in.

*were* I know not whether there was wee. If someone spacehopped all the way, quite possibly.

Ruchill Parkrun for me earlier, nice crowd, decent enough course, great views over Glasgow, pity it gets such wee turnouts.

Agreed, Ally - I don't know if runners from the posher parts are just (wrongly) feart to venture there. Also , it is hardly more in termtime, from the several hundred student flats across the road, I doubt if as many as ten roll out of bed for a run each week.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
I was a student in Glasgow for about 250 weeks. Pretty sure running at 9.30am on a Saturday would have appealed to me on exactly zero of them.

Ruchill is probably my favourite Glasgow event. Love the views from the park and using the canal to get to the run and back.
