Hi all,

Not running related but I have a ticket for Runrig’s last dance gig at Stirling on Friday for sale- face value £55 but open to offers. I have the ticket in hand.

(Haven’t done forfar sorry!)

Few years since I did Forfar. Its fairly flat'ish (no steep hills but v.short hill at end). Roads tend to be next to farm fields so if its windy you get stuff blowing off (so remember glasses if you wear contacts). Can be hot given the time of year.

Very well organised and friendly local club race.

I was waiting to see if someone who had done Forfar more recently than me posted, is it even the same route? I would agree with JRitchie. Also I got one of my most useful race mementos from Forfar 10k, a running shoe bag which has been used loads. A good race.

Fab. Thanks. I’ll take sunglasses. It’s further away than I thought. Oh well. Audiobooks for me 😄

I did Forfar in 2015 and 2016, it isn't too tough, but not a PB course either.

Did it in 2013 too! 😀

Anyone know what the West Lothian half is like?

It's … better than you might expect. Some bits are quite pleasant. They are not all the bits outside Bathgate either. Small field and a history of taking the leaders (including Laird :-)G) the wrong way. So you might want to take a copy of the route map ;-).

I have a picture somewhere …

Found it!

Back when my Fetch shirt fitted me. I just washed those shorts today. Not for the first time since the race, obvs.

USP: race route goes through a haulage yard. You are not lost at this point, even though you might wonder if you are.

(I had hoped to run it actually, but nowhere near trained. There is a 7K as well.)
