Possible parkrun tourism at Stonehaven on Saturday. Is it likely to be muddy? Just wondering if trail shoes would be better than roads. Hopefully the kids won't hold up the tail runner too much....

Hi Nessie, it shouldn't be too muddy but I always wear trail shoes for it as it's mainly on grass. Don't worry for a second about holding up the tail runner, nobody at Stoney minds how long it takes. Sorry I won't be there on Saturday as we are having our annual camping trip with friends including WKP (who would also normally be there) and are planning to run at Montrose instead but Torry Quine will be timing with my Dad as the other timekeeper. I hope you enjoy it if you do go. |

Thanks Mrs S, and sorry I'll miss you. LG - I'll be in my Inverness apricot and have hubby and my 2 girls with me. Not sure if I'll leave him to shepherd them round and try to get a good run in, or just stick together, because they can get a bit whiny after 3k or so 😉 |

I might just come down anyway but I have my grandson and there is no way I'm tackling stoney with a buggy. Torry Quine is my sister so it would be nice to see her too.

Hmm, I had planned to be elsewhere MN, but maybe. There is also a potentially big event in the park just after (maybe you are going to this as well?), Girls Big Dirty Day Out. Which I expect not to find as exciting as I might hope ;-). bloodwise.org.uk mactuff.co.uk (£30 for a 3K?? Even if they do put things in your way.) There will also be "up to" 200 female vendors, inspirational speakers, and low-impact exercise sessions. Listed as starting at 1000, so parking could be busy. More parking in the business park though (use the secret gate) or at the CSA at the end of the loch. Actually, I'd keep an eye on the FB, just in case the team arrive in the park and find a wall built across the course, or such. |
