Did the Cambus Quarter today, good, flat mixed terrain course, small field, cheap as chips, burger and buffet at the finish.

I think they’ve done really well listening to feedback. Much improved route and my favorite t shirt in a while.

I did the 10k in Aberdeen this year. Weather could have been worse. Really nice event.

Weather was pretty good, head wind at times was a bit meh but that’s Aberdeen beach for ya
Tshirt, fab! Medal, fab! Baggage buses, fab!
Having the stalls and the concessions in the main area was good too Altho I didn’t avail myself of anything.
I liked the new route changes but I think it made it a bit tougher.
And I seem to have some colour across my cheeks. Windburn or sunburn!?
The marshals were amazing, even the ones I didn’t personally know!

I really enjoyed the GAR Half (apart from the windy beach & cobbles!). A lot of folk didn’t seem to enjoy it last year.
I seem to be in the minority with the t-shirt. Thought it was a bit lacklustre. Nice change of colour though. And good that the distance was noted.
Ditto for the marshalls. Think there was only a handful I didn’t know!

Loved my first time at Aberdeen half marathon and super duper chuffed with over a 2 minute half marathon PB as been trying to get under 2:20 for about 7 years since my first half!
The start had a great atmosphere, marshals were brilliant, enjoyed the course, especially the finish down the high street and felt it was challenging and mixed (could have been a bit less windy but can’t have everything!) and I’ve still got my medal and t shirt on.
Definitely worth the 250mile round trip and would do it again for sure.
