Lochore Meadows inaugural and what a cracking day for it B-). Not quite a Scottish record (334, 36 less than Crichton). Slightly congested over the first maybe 500m but then no problem (at least where I was, in the last quarter, and as it is a run where you can see the people in front spread out along the loch, that looked fine as well). Loads of people used the café as well (handing out a discount voucher helps) which is a good facility and has loads of room with benches outside or a great outlook over the loch, for when the weather is not so good.
Mainly hard-pack trail with some tarmac (and a grass start), part by the loch and part just off it, with a wee loop in a nature reserve (one not-quite lap overall). Some ups and doons in the second half, which I hadnae expected, to find you oot (though nothing major). Has immediately leapt to pretty near the top of my parkrun list.
Seemed to run smoothly all round, results slightly slow but only to be expected at a new event (I imagine somebody was mopping all the perspiration aff the floor around the RDs table after ;-).) There was even a golf buggy which collected the volunteers and signs from the far reaches of the course (mind you, said buggy nearly ran me doon afor I'd even reached the breifing :-o).
One oddity was that: after the finish, it seemed an awfy lang way back to the carpark/ cafe. That's because it was. The start and finish were actually not in the places shown on the map, the finish well short of where marked due to an extra loop on the course. Not that I think the course was short at all, just altered.
I did catch it at its best today, might be a bit different on a dreich winter's day with the rain lashing across the loch, but certainly intend to get back there. As a bonus, excellent drive there and back: up over the new brig, back through mid-Fife (Saline/Oakley).

Good review of Lochore Meadows (The Meedies) Dvorak. It’s a great place to run and as you say we couldn’t have asked for better weather.
The test route for the event is the one that is shown on the course page so can only assume that the test identified a need to alter the route. If the wee loop at the far side of the course was removed you would expect the finish to be pretty close to the car park and the start however I assume it’s been looked at and there are valid reasons for the course being as is. I quite like that it’s one single loop as opposed to numerous loops or out and back as per many parkruns. In any case the course page needs updated.
I run at the Meedies often as it’s on my doorstep. It’s usually pretty exposed to the wind round the loch but didn’t seem too bad yesterday, perhaps because it was such a braw day! You are correct that it can be pretty grim in the driving rain and wind! The course will get pretty muddy in places with some sections prone to puddles and a bit of flooding. The congestion I guess will be less of an issue once the numbers settle although the wide start on the grass fairly quickly joins the trail path so this will always be a bit of a bottleneck.
The cafe has fairly recently re-opened after being demolished and re-built. It’s a nice wee facility although I didn’t hang about to take advantage of the £3 deal.
Although I run there often, I still really enjoyed the inaugural parkrun and found it a novelty to be able to run round without having to open and close the numerous cattle gates on the route.
Highly recommend this parkrun for tourists and locals alike.

Tried for a 70% WAVA for this year today at the Down by the River 10k in Cambuslang, failed; 69.1%
Good flat course, lots of club runners and a fast field.

Nice to see you at Lochore D, albeit briefly. Anyone know how/when Fetch gets new parkruns added to the Race Finder? I don't think I can add it yet. Where did you come Johnny? I should have worn my Fetch vest, then you could have spotted me and said Hi! G

I refer the honourable gentleman to the reply I gave some moments ago (on the parkrun thread).

Saving my legs for black rock and emf so decided to volunteer tonight instead. So much fun watching the Rigg Race from the lead car! Although I realised everyone was clapping at the lead runners and not us, I got what it felt like to be a celebrity for a few moments 😂 I had never even heard of this race until a few weeks ago but some amazing views and great fun to help out at

I've just realised you are Jonny, not Johnny. I see you were first and well ahead! Well done. Fab performance and impressive time altogether! There were quite a few PH there. Good turn out. G

Well done for helping at Rigg Race Zee - it's a lovely wee event. The longest going road race in central Scotland or something. Been going over 40 years, since the 70s or 80s or something. Was going to go up and cheer, but logistics harder now that I don't live locally any more.
So, Fetch, Lochore Meadows parkrun is now showing from next Saturday onwards, but not last Saturday. Or am I just doing the search wrongly? G
