I did the Loch Rannoch Half last year and thought it was great. It reminded me of the Loch Ness Marathon (before you get to the hill). The coach to the start was a little hairy, with a couple of tight bends and narrow bridges - but it all added to the fun! I'd recommend it.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
Loch Rannoch was looking very scenic last year too with the autumn colours. Some rather dramatic weather added to the overall effect! There seemed to be enough runners in the half that only the back markers would be lonely, but you have to put up with marathon runners slogging by unless you are quite quick.

Thanks Dvorak, not sure if Edinburgh is going to happen though. I lost four weeks of training, due to tonsillitis, and only got back into it last week - I'm not sure if it's a good idea (especially as i want to beat my time from 2008)!
