Off up to Elgin this weekend to do parkrun, heard it’s a fairly flat one. Anyone done it or got any tips on where to eat dinner on Friday night or breakfast on Saturday?

I did the Road to the Isles last year and it starts on a hill and you are best not to get too excited down the Arisaig hill either. It is lovely though.

Challenging course, horrific start, but great views of Eigg, Rum & Skye, must mention the fantastic beaches too.

Elgin is fast and nearly flat princesszee, two equal laps of a park with an out and back on the riverside path. And it must be a great event as Old Croc and I are the EDs (though he does all the work!) ;-).
Not so sure about eating, I don't eat out there much and have never been greatly impressed.
Will probably be there myself, unless I find myself requiring to be in another bit of Scotland for the 11 week in a row.

There's a Cobbs in Elgin public library if you breakfast after parkrun (doesn't open until 10)
