Read a couple of times on FB that there was a bit of a bottleneck on lap 1 at a narrow sharp turn near the start - might just be people exaggerating, how did you find it ?

Will this "bottleneck" still be there on the finalised course, or will the start be different ?

I started quite near the back. Started in open ground, then onto a path and came to a near halt after about 200m. Down and across a bridge, which is not particularly narrow - except due to the snow no-one was running at the sides. At your speed, I think you'd be OK. On the finalised course, this would be at around 1200m, so doubt it would cause any issue. There will be a tight switchback at around 500m, which could be an issue. Some parts of the course could have an issue for passing, being narrower paths than say Falkirk.

I got caught up in the bottleneck on lap1 at the narrow sharp turn. To be honest I'm not sure it is a course that is suited to buggies and dogs.

Masters XC on Saturday is officially ON - we had a few queries about whether it was off due to disruption by weather but SA have said it ON. Will update if hear any otherwise

Anyone ran on the canal between Falkirk and Linlithgow recently ? Is the tunnel well lit, or are you best to take a headtorch ?
