If you would consider running on a (slightly sloping) grass track for a change, in central Scotland, for free, I could ask about this.

The Dollar Hill Race is on the 6th July (that was a location clue btw) so shouldn't clash. Shout if you fancy it - hill/trail running options could be tagged on, or a visit to the castle...

I think we should seriously consider other venues - Stirling track is getting silly expensive. I seem to remember Grangemouth was cheaper.

7th July seems unpopular. Can someone else pick up the mantle and suggest another date (so everyone can say why they can't make that one?! ;-) ) Would be great to see everyone, but maybe a 1 mile on the track isn't so popular any more? :-)G

I think folks want to do it / like the idea - it;s ust fitting a date that most folks can do! AN aye - Stirling getting a bit steep unless we can guarantee a certain number - I can;t remember if it was £35 or maybe even up to £40 last time as we no longer seem to be able to wangle the discount (sure there was a discount).

Grangemouth no so great as no real place to gather an cake afterwards. I think the option there was more to just pay individually on a day the track was definitely free rather than book?

As for a date.... erm..... I have a wee 26 mile run on 6th and may no be back in time for a mile on 7th. Other than that.... erm.....

What about the track at Lornshill Academy ( Alloa) - its very cheap ( £10 an hour). There is a decent cafe in Alloa (Dnisi) where we could go after ( about 1 mile away)

Stirling was *indeed* £40 last time, I still have the receipt.

I know (roughly) where Alloa is.....

This is for the Summer 2013 Fetch mile. There are various venue options, including A slopey grass track in Dollar , Edinburgh, East Kilbride, Stirling and Inverness. Failing all this, you can come run the mile race at my local Highland games on 20th July :)
