Cost of sole use of the wonderous track at Carluke is £56.10 per hour HOWEVER, if we can identify a suitable time & date and the track is otherwise unused, the centre is happy to cut a deal to secure the "event". I appreciate that South Lanarkshire is pretty far off-piste for most Fetchies but there it is ....

think so - looks like no one is prepared to organise or coordinate it.

There was a selection of dates and votes taken on preferred dates. There were a couple I think more popular but again nobody prepared to risk low numbers attending as cost of track would then need to be met by few people. Stirling still looked most suitable it seemed. Personally enjoy the mile/get togethers and was looking forward to a few this year.

:-( that the enthusiasm seems to have gone for them.

We could always just pay individual entry to a track when it's quiet and share it with whoever is there I.e sat afternoon/ Sun evening?

why dont all the fetchies that you see on your 'people near you' never come to the fetch miles?? I see loads of names that are within 10 miles of me. how do we get all these runners to join in and make it a bigger event and in turn make it a cheaper rent!

Just to flag this up...Strathclyde parkrun ( jammyjo and jammymo ) are planning on setting up a Magic Mile on their course , late August/eary September...See MarathonTalk site for the general idea ....Not clear yet whether it's going to be an organised , timed event or whether they are just going to set up the course ( the final mile of the parkrun , roughly ) and you time yourself ....Either way , could this be of interest ?

This is for the Summer 2013 Fetch mile. There are various venue options, including A slopey grass track in Dollar , Edinburgh, East Kilbride, Stirling and Inverness. Failing all this, you can come run the mile race at my local Highland games on 20th July :)
