Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I read that earlier. And thought "here is a circumstance where people can't say "Oh but this, or but that", it just seems a clear case of a driver mowing down a cyclist due to reckless disregard". And driving away :-(

Ally, this is a route 2 miles from my house that I cycle on frequently, really sent a shiver down my spine, thankfully he should recover in 3-4 months but cant imagine he will be keen to venture out on public roads so quickly again. Some of the crap you hear from people on facebook whenever a cycle lane or cyclist is mentioned it is hardly surprising and the fact the driver didnt stop is even more shocking. I am sure we have all been the victim of somebody driving to close to us either as they think it is funny, to teach us a lesson or they are pissed off that they were delayed for 5 seconds. I always make a point of giving drivers a thumbs up if they are considerate.

I’m a fairweather cyclist Iain, but get out occasionally. Don’t think most folk understand how scary it can be. The language used against cyclists by non cyclists can be terrible too.

I’ve had the displeasure of being hit by a car on Arran, bouncing off the bonnet & onto the windscreen, it was bloody terrifying.
