Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The law has to be more severe in the case of those who drive dangerously around cyclists.

For cyclists safety & for any chance of getting lots more folk out of cars and onto bikes.

Or "there was a collision between a *vulnerable road user* and *killing machine*" like it's mutual. Unlikely.

I rarely see a cyclist acting irresponsibly but see cars passing cyclist way too close too many times.

I had some horrendous close passes when out on my bike today. It happens far too frequently. Totally tragic news :(

I had a rant about drivers on a blog the other week.

Unfortunately it's an education issue. I don't think a lot of them do it deliberately, it's just ignorance of what space a cyclist needs and a general lack of awareness of things that are not cars.

As someone said it needs change from bottom up but that's not a quick thing, if at all.

If you've ever driven in France on country roads, the courtesy to cyclists is incredible. I was nervous running on the roads when on holiday but they were equally careful and cheerful going round me too. A different attitude.

It needs to change in the UK - too many cyclist deaths. It's a tragedy.

That's so sad to hear.

I have many near misses on my bike. I even had a driving instructor pass me so close I could have touched the car.

There was a cyclist badly injured in Blantyre the other day, hit by a car.

Car didn’t stop.
