Can I just big up the Neil McCover half marathon organised by Kirkintilloch Olympians?

fetcheveryone.com/races/neil-mccover-memorial-half-marathon-7338682

I had to pull out (Covid positive as of yesterday, so not good to run this Sunday) and they gave me an immediate and full refund (minus a tiny admin fee - probably just the Entry Central fee?) and a get well soon message.

I gifted the refund straight back to them, as I was so grateful and they are giving it to the police charity who they raise funds for, in memory of Neil McC, who was indeed a police officer, as well as a Kirky runner.

If you can support them, whether participating or just cheering them on, please do. Local events organised by local clubs, by runners, for runners. It's the life blood, dontchaknow?! :-) G

Ally, the secret is to make sure you are not on first leg, 2nd leg on its all pretty messy and nobody is any the wiser about where you are. A bit harder at Falkirk when I have the joy of being lapped by the leaders!!!

Missing it for only the second time, as you say it's a challenging route but one I enjoy (except the last little hill on Boghead Road).

Superb. She should try a flat one ;-)

Speaking of which, ran Perth parkrun yesterday, for the second time. Beautiful setting, I'll not leave it nine years (since the inaugural) to return next time. Grand place for a wee wander afterwards also.

Saw Ally-C and Haggis, and ran rather faster than expected - further proof that flat courses suit me much better. And sunshine. Stats show that the grassy/rough path section did slow me markedly.
