Yes I saw the race results Wardi Mike is going well. The race was won by Northern Ireland athlete David Clarke who recently turned 65. I think he'll dominate the V65s for quite on the track- he's an outstanding athlete.

LMH, saying that, just looked and along with the warmer temps comes rain and 40 plus mph wind! Can't catch a break with this weather!
Jools, solid progress on that parkrun. Fingers crossed that you can build from last week.
Ouchouch, that's a good place to be 8 weeks out with the Arc behind you and Malaga not so long ago.
Wardi, that must have been hugely frustrating and annoying for your chap. I occasionally still think back to the time a marshal allowed me to run straight by him at mile 24 of the MK mara, straight down a 400 metre hill and I still get a touch annoyed about it! Cost me a sub 2.50 and potentially a pb that day. Sounds like it was a good day at Wrexham also.
OO, to be fair though you were competing in a v50 race so unless the v50s are all in the senior team, i'd expect there to be 1 or 2 quicker than you so I don't think it's a reason for disappointment as such.
Riggsy, fair play you are doing well, most forget all about the exercises once they feel better.
8m with strides yesterday and 9m over lunch today. I must say the antibiotics have started to work pretty quickly. Whilst I still have a pressure headache, the congestion and nasal gunk is significantly reduced. Slept relatively well last night for first time in a week. Hoping I can get tomorrows session done at this rate of recovery.

That seems to have been the case this year DT19, it’s either cold or warmer but silly windy. A decongestant would probably help your headache.

LMH - that seems to have been the case for the last few years tbh.
DT - great news that the antibiotics are working so quickly. Fingers crossed for you.
Jooligan - good to see things going in the right direction again for you!
OO - good start to the long runs, though that's a particularly tasty pace for the 3:10 guy this far out!
Wardi - great times from your clubmates, and doh to the wrong turn! As the results coordinator you can probably see the top times from the club's history - how do the current guys rank? Most of my current club's records have been set in the last 5 years on the men's side (the 20m got updated at the weekend), but the most recent women's senior record is 2011!
riggsy - very big weekend! Well done!
TR - how have you started this week?
This week has started well. Yesterday was 25mins @ 6:57m/m with a mile either side, plus a short yoga session. This morning was a nice and easy 4m with 4 x ~10s hillsprints, and am going into the gym shortly for my first session of this week.

LMH, thanks that seems to have shaken the headache!
TT, going very well there for sure!
9m with strides lunchtime. Best i've felt running in 10 days. I don't think I realised how crap I was feeling until i've started to feel better today. Off to jacuzzi and steam room as soon as I clock off work at 5.

Happy to have helped. Great that your run felt so good. The steam room should help clear your sinuses too.

TR/DT19 - Thanks, am in a far better position than 12 months ago, when along with my omnipresent sore right knee also had ankle and ahilles issues so hardly run in February. DT19 - Another good run. That's really good news on feeling soo much better, especially as your training has been pretty decent over those 10 days.
TT - That's an excellent start. The issue with the 3.03-3.10 guts is they run their slow runs too fast as the case on Sunday.
A good tempo session earlier, in the biting wind. Did 10m with 5m averaging 6.21 mm. A slight cheat as for the first time ran in a pair of Nike 4% which only had 50 miles on them. Going to use them for tempo training from now on as just gathering dust in a wardrobe.

Ouchouch, should place you well for Newport this years, as well as it hopefully being 400-500 metres shorter!
Yes the training in that period was still there. I missed a session with 5m at Threshold, but effectively then did 3m at threshold at parkrun on Saturday so not really down much at all.
It's amazing how many run too fast all of the time. No doubt whether you're a 3.05 guy or a 2.45 guy, 8mm is relatively easy, however it must still be that bit harder for a 3.05 guy. Though i'm guessing from your comment they weren't running at 8mm!
Decent session. I do all my training in well used Alphaflys. I still get the boast on raceday as those I use even for sessions have 100s of miles on them.
LMH, yes it's a double whammy of easing my issues and being a relaxing hour.
Still 10,5 on the scales this morning, just need to hold it there for another week as training reduces.

DT19- I hope so. Newport is my A race for a good sub3 time, and a tighter course will help. We ran 7.30 mm for 20m on Sunday, I would say 30-45 secs a mile too quickly. Yes, think I will do more of my training in slightly used better/ race shoes, good for your confidence and legs!
10 5 is an excellent race weight and ideally mine too. I tend to shave a lb off it in the last week as I favour super foods and soups

OO61 - well you obviously pulled your weight, bodes well that you could do a race and 20m together.
TT - you are in a much better place on all fronts.
DT - great that the antibiotics have kicked in already, but then with 8 a day.....
Ouch - nice, going well. Good use of the 4% I had an old pair i did no runs or the odd session in, they were pretty robust
LMH - one word........ruined.
