So who can recommend a nice running sock? I have used Inov8 Merino in the past and just found a hole in my last pair of Compressport.

I swear by Thorlos and have worn very little else in 18 years of running and quite a few marathons.
They are expensive but last for years

Smartwool PhD crew socks. I used to wear Thorlos and then tried the Smartwool and preferred them. They're not cheap but four years without blisters nor any signs of wear on the socks must be a good thing.

I've been wearing Wrightsocks for years but they seem to have become unobtanium. Trying some Falkes. Single-skin but seem ok so far.

Absolutely love x-socks but can't seem to source them any more
For short races I've found it doesn't really matter, but marathons and longer getting the right shoe/sock combination is crucial.

Karrimor running sock often found in twin packs in (the dreaded) Sports Direct. Cheap but work for me - no blisters and seem to last quite a while.
I just had to throw a pair I ran the Chester Marathon in, in 2015!!

I love the Inov8 merino when it's cold though the latest ones don't seem as durable. In the warm it's 1000 mile race socks.
