Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hi,
Looking for information on 2022 running leagues in the UK run by athletic clubs, specifically the prices and what you get in return. Any information or links would be great, Google is not helping much on this question.
When I say leagues I mean a series of races 5k to 8-10M or so where a competitor enters to do the whole series.

Thank you

In Cornwall the series (Cornish Grand Prix, Cornish Multi Terrain series, Westward League) , all three of these are just pay in advance for a single race (because injuries/illness and you might not want or be able to do all races, and usually the leagues scoring mechanisms tolerate you missing one or two - discarding your worst race results.

They aren't usually organised by 1 club, but a multitude, and there is a governing body made up of reps from all clubs involved. You can see some details here for the first two Cornish series/leagues.

The following Race Calendar shows a few races that are part of a series - it states on them 'Race 3 of 5' etc

One I spotted is Lancaster - 10 races for £100

I run a fell race series on the North York Moors. Each race is £5 with winter plus summer series. You only pay for races you attend. There are series prizes available plus prizes for those who attend all the races in a series.

Up here in the South Lakes, Kendal AC plan to stage a series of four midweek 10k road races in late spring/early summer - places are on sale at £12.50 for each single event or £44 for the lot (£14.50 and £52 for unaffiliated runners)

kendalaac.uk for some not quite up to date info - you'll need to follow the entry link for this year's prices/details

Not a league as such - there are no 'Series prizes' (or, at least, there never have been previously) - but something of a discount for the bulk purchase

The price varies whether you intend to run once, three, six, nine or all twelves times. A single race is £12.00 affiliated, £14.00 non-affiliated an £15.00 on the night. The full series works out at £105.00 and £115.00.
