Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Just did my first full week of this, last week.

So I did a hill session of 8 x 30 secs with 60 secs recovery, a fartlek session.And reps of 10 x 200m in 36 secs with 2 minutes recovery. I also did a long run of 70 mins.

Does this seem the right idea from what he suggests? Do you think I would be better off adding a tempo session in place of one the other sessions?

i have this book now, like the principles of it.

I also have daniels running formiula, the lore of running, pose and chi books.

Im just bloody confused now.

Im currently (in a fashion) doing a long run, track session 800, 400s, hill run, temp run, recovery run.

Errr, only just realised Mr Goater was the guy who gave me some training back in April :-0

He gave me an 80 page collection of articles after our session, which I have just finished reading. Was aimed a lot at Triathletes but it has given me lots of ideas for improving my training (not difficult given my ad hoc training currently, but still).

May well have to get this book as well!

I am going to re- read it and get down to some of the sessions in it. I do do the fartlek session each week and aim to do a hill session each week.

The speedwork is the part that me has confused. Hillwork and Fartlek is fine but that speedwork chapter has made me more confused!

I've just started doing the four key sessions a week - this week managed 200m repeats, fartleks, tempo and will do a long run on Sunday.

I lied actually, assumed I was going to do the Parkrun this morning but a work-do last night put a spanner in the works, but I will be aiming for around 40 mpw using the guide at the back of the book.

I loved the track and fartlek, will do a long run tomorrow - hopefully going to step up a gear next week and try to do some double sessions.

Wasn't too sure how to pace myself for the 200m, it wasn't too clear in the book. Ended up running them in 35secs with 1min recovery. Last few were a push but I managed them.
