30:30 at parkrun on Saturday with my friend. Yesterday was a negative split run on the Garmin training plan : 3 miles ‘easy’ at 30:30, 2 miles ‘steady’ at 60:30, 0.72 miles hard at 60:30 (was supposed to be a mile, but it was so hot and I was tired!) Well done everyone on your runs. |

Doing nicely lin50. I m not surprised that you ditched the mile, almost three quarters is good enough for the training effect. Well done. Good ratio and pace Pamruns. Go on GeneH...!!!....race that half! Good training so far. 4.5 miles this morning, back to a modest 30 second run/ 60 seconds walk but pleased with it and feeling that I'm progressing. Have done 100 miles this month. More tomorrow! |

Did a half mile continuous run this morning which was ridiculously hard. HR was ok but it was a bit too far for where I'm still at!

Well done @steve45, that must feel like progress even if it was hard.

Just over 29km implementing walk 1 minute every km. Felt strong. Actually, probably the strongest I've felt during a lsr this year.

6 miles this morning. Garmin training plan was 2.5 miles easy, 1.5 miles steady, 1 mile hard. Added an extra mile as a cool down. 2.5 miles mainly continuous running with random walk breaks. Then a mix of 60:30 and 30:30. Still warm today, but not as hot as during the week. |

Parkrun yesterday 29.04min. Today struggled at 10.20min mile pace for 3 mile. ☹️

I like to follow Jeff (Galloways) advice that training is a lot slower than race pace. If in old money 5km pace + at least two minutes per mile. It in new money, 5km pace + ninty seconds. Also I back that up with HR. Anything getting close to 140 bpm I slow down.

Thanks for the podcast heads up Corrah. Well done lin50 the nearly all continuous running of 2.5 miles is good. ( I should get to that by the end of the year😂). You might have struggled Pam runs but that's not a bad park run time . Good advice Fenners. I'm with you on utilising my HRM and keeping an eye on my HR. Because my autonomic nervous system has been compromised by long COVID I still seem to have an inappropriate response to exercise which the medication trial I'm on is supposed to level out . Yesterday my HR went up, very briefly, to 157 BPM which was my measured max HR after a heart rate test pre COVID. |
